We’ve helped run events in the Eastern Bay of Plenty for years now and our team have fostered relationships with many of the not for profit, community and charitable organisations in the area, but we are ALWAYS looking to collaborate with more people and organisations in the future

WHAKATANE COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS LUNCH
A Drive-through option was made available in 2021 to provide for the community in a contactless way to comply with Covid-19 restrictions.
Took over the coordination of this large and successful event in 2019, in 2020 moved to background role acting as the funding agent and consultant to an organising committee.

NEIGHBOURS DAY
Neighbours Day 2018 in Whakatane was set up to be a ‘fun-fest’, with a range of free activities planned to help bring the Neighbourhood together. Hosted at Allandale School and coordinated by Whakatane Ki Mua, Neighbourhood Support and The Events Network Trust.
Provided advice and guidance to local council event organiser. Coordinated free children’s activity within the event to help with public awareness for participating organisations.

WHAKATANE SKY SHOW
The Whakatane Sky Show featured New Zealand’s largest choreographed ground level fireworks display, a spectacular lighting and pyro show, combined with some of the Bay’s best performers, food stalls, and amusement rides.
We provided advice and coordination support and managed VIP and Guest Information Kiosk.

FIGHT FOR LIFE ED
Fight for Life Ed is a charity boxing extravaganza that saw all your favourite members of the community go head-to-head to raise funds for The Life Education Trust Eastern Bay of Plenty! An evening of full on sporting entertainment, that supported a worthy cause, raising money for the health education programmes of the Eastern Bay of Plenty’s own Life Education Trust.
Provided event management and volunteer recruitment support.

XMAS AT THE PARK RIBBON DAY
Charities given opportunity to engage with the community while providing ribbons representing their organisations to be used as decorations for an event display and participating charities were presented with a portion of the gold coin entry fee from the event.

Kawerau District Youth Council
Youth Volunteer Workshop
KYC – Youth Volunteer Workshop
KYC comprises young people aged between 12 and 24 and is designed to encourage youth participation in civic affairs and provide a voice and direction on youth issues to the Kawerau District Council, community groups and organisations.
Provided event planning workshop to youth to support their delivery of a large-scale community event.
WHAKATANE HOMELESSNESS ACTION TEAM
Support for homeless in Whakatāne Township.
Whakatane Homelessness Action Team – Partnership with TENT
A Drop In Centre was organised for homeless to seek support or information if they require it, or just have a bit of morning tea. The centre was open for two hours each morning from Monday to Friday and was managed solely by volunteers within the community.
Provided administration, research and project coordination support.
Waste Not Want Not
A local Food Rescue initiative.
Waste Not Want Not – Partnership with TENT
This initiative is about reducing food waste to landfill by redistributing quality food to the community. The food is free and available to everyone and anyone, with no judgment. Having zero food waste is the objective.
Provide advice, operational development support, volunteer recruitment, and marketing for this start-up charitable organisation.
Whakatane Ki Mua
A Whakatāne District Council community engagement project.
Whakatane Ki Mua – Stakeholder
Whakatāne Ki Mua aims to understand what people love and value about our District, our towns and communities, and identify a shared vision of what we want for our future.
Key stakeholder to represent community charitable organisations and advocate for community-led initiatives.
